Iran has officially confirmed that 935 individuals were killed during the recent 12-day military conflict with Israel, including 38 children and 132 women, according to state media and judiciary spokesperson Asghar Jahangir.

Rising Toll, Key Targets

Initial Iranian reports listed 610 fatalities before the ceasefire took effect in late June. The updated count includes victims from airstrikes on civilian and military sites—including the notorious Evin Prison in Tehran, where 71 people were killed.

The conflict began on June 13, when Israel launched a massive campaign—dubbed Operation Rising Lion—targeting nuclear facilities and senior military leaders, including top generals and prominent scientists.

Iranian Response

Iran retaliated with over 550 ballistic missile launches, some of which hit Israel. However, Israeli defenses intercepted most, though at least 28 people were killed in Israel, according to officials.

⚖️ Humanitarian Concerns

The rising death toll includes a mix of civilians and military personnel. Iran’s official figures are higher than independent estimates, which put the fatalities closer to 1,190 . On the Israeli side, hospitals treated thousands for injuries amid the brief war.

⏭ International Fallout

The widespread casualties have drawn worldwide condemnation and calls for diplomatic action through the United Nations. Iran is set to present evidence to global bodies, challenging the legality of Israel’s strikes under international law. Meanwhile, Israel has indicated that hostage negotiations in Gaza may be easier to advance following its military success.
